THE SEA in P4 and P5

The end of Christmas came and school started once again.

After that magical period of the year, it was time to get to find out about an unknown part of the world for most children, the sea and its wildlife.

At class children got to know some of the most common species that the deep blue sea hides us at first glance. Among them, they discovered the fish, the turtle, the octopus, the shark or the starfish.

To get familiar with that wildlife, we started by colouring drawings of them and once that done, sticking them on to a wall mural.

Over several weeks of lessons, children got a basic understanding of the sea wildlife. That allow them to enjoy with a good knowledge the play that was waiting for them at the end of this chapter.

A theatre company sent to lovely girls to perform a play about the sea and the wildlife that the children had been working on over the last weeks. The play led them to get a deeper grasp of what happens in the depth of the seas and oceans.
